10:31 EDT: [Nate] Congratulations, President Obama.
10:30 EDT: [Sean] McCain's final answer was strong, but it was: "I'm a humble servant of America like a long line of McCains, so hire me." Obama's is about policies to grow the economy and the middle class. As Nate says...
10:26 EDT: [Sean] McCain keeps saying Palin's son has autism, but it's Down's Syndrome.
10:24 EDT: [Sean] John, Obama's wife is named "Michelle."
10:19 EDT: [Nate] McCain is treating this debate as though all the undecideds were Fox News viewers. Bet he'll win the Luntz focus group, though!
10:17 EDT: [Sean] Who's in charge of toweling off Roland Martin after this debate? He's hitting that button like he's fighting Mike Tyson at the end of Punch-Out.
10:15 EDT: [Sean] Obama's answer to Nancy Reagan: "Just say no to cavalier sexual behavior?"

what the hell is McCain thinking. He was doing great the first 10-15 minutes, and then of course his grumpiness took over.
HAH. "Cavalier behavior" was the best euphemism ever.
What did McCain say about Obama voting against Justice Breyer? What the hell?
Also, has McCain gotten the last word on EVERY QUESTION?
The fact that women like Obama more makes me feel better about leaning towards McCain.
Women are proven to be more "creatures of emotion" while men are "creatures of reason/logic".
For those interested in cavalier sexual behavior, visit Charlottesville, Va. in the fall.
Sean you're a moron. Nate I like but you just can't put aside your partisan bitterness.
Math and science taechers have too many opportunities in the private sector to take the crap from the idiots running the schools.
I wish obama would bring up cost savings with efficiency in bringing in technology to the gov't like he has to his campaign.
Innovation for Education would be a good line..
Obama is defensive, McCain is attacking....but I don't think it's gonna matter. McCain didn't do anything to dominate this debate and change the game, although Obama's "Americans are cynical" is going to come back to bite him.
Still unsold on the CNN dials...love them, but trust them about as much as I trust Palin to run this country.
i'm kind of bummed i haven't heard "cool hand on the tiller." :(
Obama is finishing pretty strong I think. He seems so collected throughout the debate series; it's no wonder the "scary black muslim" framing hasn't worked for the GOP...
check-plus on the punch-out reference, sean.
Did McCain just admit he doesn't care about the health of the mother?
Vouchers...AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!
McCain says there is no doubt that we have achieved equal access to education after long struggle.
Wow. Just wow.
How are parents going to have a choice to different schools with a "spending freeze"?
Nick, thanks or the requisite obnoxious stereotype.
Man, the dials loved Obama on his education answer. They actually maxed out. The women are really having a tough time warming up to McCain.
Spending freeze means less money for schools and due to some state laws here, schools that do not do as well, cannot get a cut, meaning the more successful schools get a bigger cut. I don't oppose those laws - I'm sure they need their money, but I'm hoping for a time when nobody will need a cut.
Spending freeze means the next generation has to pay off the Iraq war debt. As President Bush put it on a credit card, it doesn't help when the next leaders of tomorrow are being denied the opportunity to learn. I don't see how McCain would help students in any way.
On the debate, McCain got completely slaughtered on health care. His sharp intakes and his voice shaking betrays his rage.
I, for one, would not feel safe with his hand that close to the red button.
I'm glad Bob brought up education now. I'm interested in McCain's views now.
I know Obama's speeches and I hope he goes through with his plans. There have been too many disappointments lately in this country.
What I'm trying to figure out is why McCain is blinking so much! Maybe John Stewart was right and they are sending secret messages to the base.
mccain meant that obama voted against alito, not breyer. That won't play well with mccain's base, mixing the librul breyer up with their darling boy alito
Nick if YOU were a creature of logic you wouldn't be leaning toward McCain.
Obama/Joe The Plumber '12!
McCain won the debate ????
This teacher hates that McCain and Palin can't even finish their sentences.
Wow! In the education answer, I swear Obama maxed out every meter on cnn.
Nick Loucks -- that's the dumbest comment I've ever heard! "Women are emotional, men are logical." What a load of horse hocky! The women on that panel understand the significant difference between these candidates. McCain will ruin this country pandering to the right-wingnuts.
The Republiklan party likes to terrorize independent voters with spurious lies about Obama at 8 years old but McCAIN hires people who have worked for a terrorist, Saddam Hussein.
Please answer this political opinion poll at http://poll.democratz.org
::The fact that women like Obama more makes me feel better about leaning towards McCain.
Women are proven to be more "creatures of emotion" while men are "creatures of reason/logic".::
That's not so logical. Do you need a woman's response to validate your opinions - in this case for the negative? Wait, don't answer that.
I am a McCainiac McCainiac Thats for Sure. And I am Dancing like I never Danced before.
Sean you're a moron. Nate I like but you just can't put aside your partisan bitterness.
Yeah, fuck you anyway. Be glad we don't decide to put you up against the wall and machine gun you. I think that's about all you are going to get for the next twenty ears.
Frequent blinking means he's lying.
Did McCain just say soldiers who served their country should be able to straight from the army to teaching with being certified?
Hmm... better teachers= no certification. Who knew?
Did McCain just say that people getting out of the military should be able to teach without getting tested or certified?
That blows my mind.
INTRADE's Obama Win Levle now up 2.4 points (from 82 to 84.4) since the debate began!
Thank GOD there have been some new issues brought up in this debate, and it's looking like McCain got stomped on both the Supreme Court and on education.
So, for the third time, Obama plays rope-a-dope?
No game changers, and unless we have an October Surprise or the laws of inferential statistics are not true, nothing happens between now and 11-4?
McCain lies .. McCain is rude .. McCain is angry .. McCain can't finish a sentence ... why would anyone think this man could (a) govern and (b) be effective in foreign or domestic policy? It's beyond me. Even if you agreed with the policies he claims to believe in (I think he's just putting one over on the right-wingnuts just so he can outrank his daddy), why would you think someone of his temperament should be president? Gads.
OVER 9000 VOUCHERS!

WHHHHHAT ?
packerx: beat you to it :-)
Hmm. So it sounds like McCain's all about choice, all of a sudden, now that we're talking about schools. Can we go back for one second to his opinion on choice as it relates to women's bodies?
Ugh... fighting Mike Tyson in NES Punch-Out was always the WORST.
Would drive me into neck-vein-popping tantrums.
Perfect analogy though. Nice.
Call me crazy, but Obama has looked pretty nifty tonight, better than the last two, in fact. McCain is insufferable. I can't imagine indies/undies liking him.
Sean: Nice call with the Punch-Out reference. Go little Mac!
McCain seemed more at home going on the offensive about Ayers than discussing the issues. Obama's handling of the negative campaigning was reasonable but left some obvious responses on the table, in my opinion. Nevertheless, he came across as calm and prepared to discuss the situation, even if McCain abused his "last word" on the issue to get in a couple stretched truths.
McCain realizes Trig Palin has Down Syndrome, not autism.... right?
Oh man, guys. Palin's son has Down syndrome, not autism. Good try, John.
"10:17 EDT: [Sean] Who's in charge of toweling off Roland Martin after this debate? He's hitting that button like he's fighting Mike Tyson at the end of Punch-Out."
Tyson was probably one of the least button-intensive fights in that game. Timing dodging and very occasional counterpunching.
I don't want to belabor the point, but there is science behind that fact
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11124043
I'm not saying everything that McCain says is logical and gold adn that everything that Obama says is irrational... just trying to inject some jumor in people putting actual stock in the stupid CNN meter thing.
Nick Loucks: stereotype much?
This word "proven": it does not mean what you seem to think it means...
McCain is interrupting too much. He's a pig.
Jesus Christ, Ed M. That was totally uncalled for.
Agreed on the Lewis debate being the turning point tonight. McCain has lagged Obama consistently in every topic since then, whereas he came out of the gate looking like he could beat expectations at Hofstra after all. Guess not.
McCain wants to treat the symptom without addressing the cause with his voucher proposal. Bad schools need to be turned into good schools; good schools don't need to be overwhelmed and flooded (ever heard of urban blight?) and turned into bad schools.
Palin's. Son. Has. Down's. Syndrome. Not autism. Is McCain confused on this point, or does he think they're the same?
I was thinking not long ago that McCain won this debate. My emotions about how much bullshit McCain is throwing out have made that hard to accept, but for a while Obama was expanding a lot of effort trying to defend his own record, and that isn't good.
The interruptions have been maddening.
Obama made that same mistake again.
Senator McCain is absolutely right.
No, Debate 101. Never go with your opponent. Reword it, but never say he's right.
pssst... John... Down's Syndrome & Autism are not actually the same thing.
Also, quit interrupting.
I think McCain just quoted Arnold Vinick on HeadStart.
what's with the autism obsession?
AND WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH SPENDING MONEY ON EDUCATION?
Guys, we're not all watching CNN. So you're wasting your really precious server resources discussing Roland Martin.
Does McCain not realize Palin's child has Down Syndrome, not Autism? Third time he's mentioned it...I'd think part of the solution for special needs children would be not lumping them all together.
McCain! Get to know your running mate better! Her youngest has Downs, not autism!
Emily I was thinking the same thing - I was wondering if I got confused! Just mentioning it once was a little odd but twice is really confusing... he definitely thinks Trig (name?) has autism. Owch.
McCain thinks Palin knows about autism because her kid has downs? I find that offensive, as i'm sure everyone that knows anyone with autism spectrum does.
Did McCain just snort?
Mac has jumped on the last word every time, not that Bob let him.
still creepy
@breadandwine
Gads.
That's pretty much why Hitchens just endorsed Barack
Education is a definite state responsibility. McCain knows nothing about that, but he sure knows about states on abortion and same-sex marriage.
Oh! There's the 'my friends' - #2 of the night.
He's utterly convinced the camera isn't on him when O's speaking.
Holy crap, McCain won his first coin toss of the debates.
Sarah Palin doesn't know shit about having a special needs child. The kid is 5 months old. All 5 month olds are about the same. This is pandering of the absolute worst type. I HATE JOHN MCCAIN! Just had to get that off my chest.
YAY! OBAMA GETS LAST WORD!
McCAIN DROPPED "MY FRIENDS!!"
McCain won ?
He said "My friends"! Finally!
Everyone drink!
Talking. Point. Central.
That Mike Tyson's Punch Out reference was brilliant!
Nick Loucke,
65 Nobel prize winning scientists have endorsed Obama
0 have endorsed McCain
Still think you're on the side of logic?
Nick, you have GOT to be kidding. Obama is the very embodiment of the rational logical self. McCain, on the other hand, is not, by any measure. I don't know why women like Obama more. But to lean toward McCain because he is more rational is nothing short of bizarre.
anyone think mccain's insistence on obama and his wife choosing their own school a little bit um, eye-catching? it made me slightly unconfomtable. i don't even wanna know why
McCain won his first coin toss of the debates.
Intrades don´t said this.
Autism, Down's Syndrome - a 'tard is a 'tard is a 'tard to Senator McCain.
Zzzzzzzzz
I can't wait to hear Obama's final speech. have your recorders running.
really poor delivery on last remarks by mac. sorry. still too many blinks
OMG! McCain just snorted after laughing about vouchers!
Trig is Palins GRANDSON, not son:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XEQdYdCfl60
McCain is blinking almost continuously.
Blinky-Winky '08 ?
"That Mike Tyson's Punch Out reference was brilliant!"
But incorrect :)
Shoulda gone with Don Flamenco.
the nation's foremost authority on autism: sarah palin.
I think I hear the Fat Lady singing.
Jesus Christ, Ed M. That was totally uncalled for.
I'll think about it. If the TED spread comes back to something approaching one, I'll be ashamed. If it doesn't, I think I've laid out a very sensible policy for the future.
I think this debate will do little. Maybe the voters will choose a decisive winner (honestly, I'm not sure whom), but I can't see the polls swinging (just as they haven't for any debate so far).
Went to "MyDebates.org" ... it's a MySpace page.
Nice plug for Murdoch there, Bob.
So we should elect him because he comes from a long line of McCains who fought in the wars?
i'm a loser baby, why dont you kill me
- john fucking mccain
Sean: Correct me if I'm wrong, but McCain didn't say that Palin's son has autism. He said that Palin is well-equipped to deal with special needs kids b/c she has one of her own, and focused on autism as a major issue facing special needs kids.
I think Palin's sister's kid is autistic (or something like that).
But either way, Senator McGrumpy isn't selling much on that point.
"Roger said...
McCain is blinking almost continuously.
Blinky-Winky '08 ?"
With Joe the Plumber as his running mate.
Obama victory.... again.
The Republican base loves vouchers. It's not a selling point for anyone else that I know of. McCain blew the education section.
McCain at the beginning, Obama at the end. I call this thing a tie, or maybe slim Obama victory, and it don't matter, cos BO has this thing IN THE BAG.
Did McCain ask for the dyansty ote? "A long line of MCCains"? really?
Also... did he say teachers shouldn't have to be certified?
During Palin's interview with Charlie Rose, she referred to her son in the military as her "one and only son" If Trig was her son, why would she say this?
Good job X3 - sounded like his 'heh heh heh barracuda!' wretched.
Good Job Bob. Pretty good debate to watch this time around. My that went by pretty fast...
Obama won. Simpel as that.
Unless you think he's a terrorist commie.
Obama closed better; McCain's first 15 minutes probably won't carry him. I call it a draw, which means a lot of folks will call it for McCain (I'm *way* left), but regardless it wasn't the turning point McCain needed to get anywhere.
Hmm, McCain's closing comments were all about him. Obama's talking about what the country needs. Much better close.
Where's the kids?
Schieffer: My mom always used to say, go vote now, it'll make you feel big and strong.
WTF?
McCain won ?
it is none of our business if true -- but maybe another relative of Gov. Palin has autism spectrum disorder.
Or maybe McCain is olddddddddddd
Sarah Palin on Charlie Rose, forgets she has a son named Trig that was just born? Nope, it's her grandson!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EbSlc4XGGnk
Is McCain nervous or what! He said good job 3 times to Obama!
GO PHILS!!!!
Also, and I know this is wildly off-topic, but Michelle O is going to be the hottest 1st lady since Jackie.
And maybe Barack the hottest prez since JFK? Ladies?
Please can we just all vote tomorrow? It feels like we've been going thru this for a decade.
Sean, Nate:Re the server problems, I learned today from a colleague who knows somebody in Blogger that 538 is the #1 most popular (i.e., most heavily "hit") site on Blogger. So could part of your "problem" literally be input overload?
That said, Blogger is owned by Google, and Google damn well ought to be able to make sure that its #1 most frequented site doesn't encounter this problem. This deserves very high priority.
Finally, (to state something that may not be well recognized here), Nate's high school is the same one that one of the co-founders of Google attended. If only for "the old school's sake," let's hope that 538 and Google can work together to take the platform to a higher capability.
re:Nate@10:31 - heck yeah!
KNOCK ON FUCKING WOOD, NATE.
Ummm...I think McCain was starting to cry at the beginning of his closing statement! After watching the debate I see why!
Real Joe:
You need to stop hanging around here and get back to your new plumbing business.
McCain is not making the mistake of fleeing the building this time
Wher's Palin?
I kust can't imagine indies buting into McCain.
Bill Bennett SPINNING like a madman.
Poll aggregation codemonkeys calling the election is GREAT NEWS!!! For Willy Wonka!!!!
I was waiting for McCain to growl "Why, you impudent little upstart!"
nick loucks,
I'd be happy to match logic skills with you, but with that post you already lost.
Fuck. Yes.
Just trying to inject a little humor to sterotypes and the same old topics, folks.
I guess this is not the best crowd for that. My apologies.
"10:31 EDT: [Nate] Congratulations, President Obama."
Chills. The good kind. Don't get complacent. A candidacy of inevitability.. Sound familiar? No? Hillary would like to have a word with you.
IT'S NOT OVER YET. that's my point.
People take things a bit too seriously, yes.
so who won ?
Final CNN Pundit's scores:
(Take these with a grain of salt)
Begala O+12
Castellanos M+5
King M+2
Bennett M+11
Gergen O+2
Martin O+16
Total positives : Obama +111 McCain +99
As a resident of the #1 tipping state and an Obama campaign volunteer, and a teacher, and an agnostic, I pray to god that your 10:31pm update is correct. Dear lord.
This was a 50:50 debate
loss for McCain
Sarah Palin doesn't know shit about having a special needs child. The kid is 5 months old. All 5 month olds are about the same.
To defend this, by the time he was 5 months my younger brother with down's had had multiple major surgeries, including open heart surgery... it's definitely not about the same
Having said that, the idea that she understands special needs families because of 5 months is absolutely ludicrous, and I'll say that my mom has repeatedly commented that Palin is resoundingly disliked by the parents she talks to at the local group that organizes social events/etc for Down's children
macavity said...
Also, and I know this is wildly off-topic, but Michelle O is going to be the hottest 1st lady since Jackie.

don't talk abou mimi like that!
And Barack does cut quite an image.
Final CNN scores:
Obama +111
McCain +99
Close, but no cigar.
The MSM watched a different debate. They're rigging the outcome in McCain's favor. I'kk bet they've also packed the focus groups with wingnuts.
Bennett still spinning.
McCains best debate of the three. I would not argue with anyone saying he won it to be honest. Its certainly within the level you could have a fair argument for either candidate
Not enough though
It's fun to have the final month of the election be more like a victory lap than a nailbiter or a death march.
Macavity - YES for sure. Mmm yum.
BBC has called it a draw and basically said it isn't going to make much difference. All economy, all the time. They've swooped off to Kenya now.
What is everyone else saying?
This is tangential, but sometimes, especially for women it's the little things that matter.
The contrast between how Sen. McCain greets and behaves with his wife is so striking in comparison to Sen. Obama. It's like they don't like each other and he shows her such little regard. He raced down the steps ahead of her and didn't even look back to guide her or care for her in any way. They stand 2 feet apart uncomfortably while Barack always has his hand lovingly on his wife/partner when he gets the chance.
Call me petty, but I'll take the guy who openly loves and appreciates his wife over the guy who barely seems to tolerate his any day.
Gergen is the only CNN guy down the middle, and he is repub skewed
plus 5
plus 3 Obama
Don't forget Castellano. They're actually saying Obama sucked. WTF??? Unbelievable.
For the love of Pete. Down Syndrome is not Autism.
Sarah Palin has a Down Syndrome child. It is a chromosomal problem. They have tests for it.
10:31 EDT: [Nate] Congratulations, President Obama.
Yep - that about sums it up. :)
I think McCain came out much more aggressive and Obama just let him have his way.
uppitytexan: Barry is a cute thing, hands down.
It doesn't matter what just happened. Campaign like the Democrats are down by twenty everywhere. Don't jinx yourself. NEVER GIVE UP, NEVER SURRENDER!
CRUISE CONTROL.
Yeah, Nate's right. The election's over. The CNN conservative pundits are talking about how many points McCain won, but we're way past scoring points at this stage. The fundamentals of the debate haven't changed. McCain didn't do anything bold and refreshing. It's over.
Mara Liasson on NPR just said they were both pretty good, but McCain had a much tougher job and didn't achieve it, so by that standard it's another Obama win.
WTF is Bill Bennett on? Likewise the rest of these clowns. Obama won. It was more clear than the last one.
Very awkward to have Roland Martin standing there without a seat. Odd man out.
So it's a tie right? McCain's best debate, but Obama was good too, especially in the end. So it's a tie, but heck, even if it's a McCain win it's not gonna be a big one, and that's what he needed.
McCain's closing comments were all about him and what he would do and what he would like to inherit. Barack's by stark and inspiring contrast were about his vision for the American people and the future he's committed to stewarding. 'Nuff said.
BCC has been the right call each time
right again, draw
draw is all obama needed
dkan71, abso-friggin-lutely. Fist-bumps vs. 'makeup like a trollop'...
I know this is back on #2, but Nate's comment "9:36 EDT: [Nate] This debate is beginning to resemble a typical comment thread at FiveThirtyEight." is the funniest thing I've seen on the 2938798735 hours I've spent reading this and other sites in the last few months.
@dkan71
Yes, I've noticed that from previously observing both couples. The awkwardness between McCain and Cindy is very very striking.
Yeah I'll take the wife which, uhm... still has all the real working parts y'know...
The MSM are fucking dying to turn this into a Horse Race. Dear Lord, every one of them are spining for McCain.
Don't call it yet! God only knows what could happen in the next few weeks. They don't call them October Surprises for nothing!!
here's a recap: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=l63SRpGXBHE
intrade:
Obama 84.6
McCain 15.9
DAAAAAAAAAAM
What are the CNN pundits smoking?
My kids want to know who the heck Joe the Plumber is, and can we stop talking about him now?
McCain's response on the negative campaigning question was just inappropriate. His feelings were hurt? Really??
It is very, very hard to look at McCain when Obama is speaking. The split screen format does McCain no favors at all.
In fairness to McCain, Palin has a nephew with autism. Because autism is probably the disability that the average person is currently most passionate about, it makes sense that McCain would try to use that connection to tie Palin in with special needs funding and education. The mistake he made was in not being clear enough with the connections, so it looked like he was handing Trig a whole new diagnosis.
Nate said President Obama
Election over
Eek, 0345, time for bed. Hasta manana...
Ah BBC is back on the boys. The moment where Obama looked at McCain and said 'there have been people at your rallies saying 'Kill Him'' was called a 'heartstopping' moment. Also it reflected his calm and unflappability. Seems like BBC is actually leaning to calling it for Obama.
Can we somehow create buttons affirming our status as "Citizens for Senator Government?" I see Uncle Sam flying an eagle. Is anyone with me?
CBS Poll: Undecideds think Obama won.
I'd call it a draw, they both held their ground really admirably.
McCain made more gaffes though - not gotcha gaffes, but the gibberings of an old man. Mixed up names, spoonerisms, playing the special needs card but actually blowing it spectacularly.
He also made a right tit of himself over Joe Plumber, which will be a massive internet meme by the time we all head out to work (which, over here, is in four hours... GAD!).
Both good on policy, Obama better in poise, dignity, coolness, appearance.
McCains Best debate and it was close, but close is not enough for Mccain
Obama. Point and Game.
AxmxZ
Yup yup. Now not that matters, it's the issues that matter. yeah, the Issues.
Can you guys hit the poll on who won the debate in the 'Political' tab of the Foxnews.com website...that poll always seems off from the rest due to lack of votes.
Night macavity and all other Brits. I really must get to bed too, especially if the chat on here is going to be that pundits are calling it for McCain! Pff.
Bill Bennett is officially the 2nd biggest prick on the planet...McCain being #1.
FOX - Luntz - overall Obama won, finished strong like the other debates was the comment from the crowd..
4/23 were swayed by the debate all to Obama - Luntz said "that was very good news for Obama"
OK, is it just my bias?? I do not see where McCain was so gangbusters as they are all saying or Obama so flat. I thought McCain meandered all over and kept trying to drag it back to his Obama wants to raise taxes constantly. He seemed to think we couldn't hear both of them. I thought Obama laid everything out clearly and Mccain just jumped all over. Do not get it.
Sarah Palin can see Autism from her house.
10:19 EDT: [Nate] McCain is treating this debate as though all the undecideds were Fox News viewers. Bet he'll win the Luntz focus group, though!
----------
Luntz just on Fox. Only 4 voters changed their minds tonight. Obama got all 4!
Nate, stick to the numbers.
I got news for you Nick there is no such thing as "reason/logic" as you wish, and have been taught, that there is.
And your sexist comment is lame.
Someone should remind -both candidates - that nuclear energy doesn't replace oil.
Oil is not used to generate electricity, so unless every car, truck and train converts to being electric, having an increase in electric power capacity doesn't reduce oil consumption, foreign or domestic.
McCain/Palin 2008!
No more planetariums!
wow...that 527 CNN just aired showing a girl that was raped and saying Palin would make her carry the baby was brutal
We might have a few weeks till Election Day still, but McCain lost his last big chance to turn things around.
John McCain = FAIL.
Can we now rename John McCain as Soda Popinski?
Hate to say it, but this one was a McCain win. Fiesty and playing to the center. Game changer? Probably not, but enough (unfortunately) to make the last 3 weeks interesting. McCain stays in the game, reverses the Obama trend and remains a threat.
"although Obama's "Americans are cynical" is going to come back to bite him."
I don't think so ... Obama said Americans were cynical about politics, and implied that it was negative politicking that made them so.
The polls, specifically yesterday's CBS/NYT poll, pointed directly to said cynicism.
"McCain/Palin 2008!
No more planetariums!"
Or abortons or fat people!
An important part of being the American president is to be calm & cool and professional during a crisis. Obama can easily do that. McCane? He'd probably lob nuke missiles at a country that makes him mad! McCain would be DANGEROUS as the president.
Sorry, Nick! Thought you were serious.
It's a good place for humor, but we get some really dopey trolls sometimes.
This typical comment thread at FiveThirtyEight is beginning to resemble the debate at @ 9:36 EDT.
McCain did okay, Obama did very good. Not a tie, but close...but when McCain needs an absolute moonshot- it is a very good night for Barack Obama.
President Obama indeed. No more incoherent policies and angry politics, please.
Thanks guys! And I hope you're feeling better Nate.
I'm a big Obama supporter, but McCain came out very strong, and most people turned off the TV 30 minutes in. This was a win, although a small one, for McCain.
>>Bill Bennett is officially the 2nd biggest prick on the planet.<<
I thought that was obvious when Harvard Law grad and Philosophy PhD Bill Bennett went after Obama for elitism.
CBS Instant polling of uncommitted voters shows 53% believe OBAMA won tonight vs. 24% who think McCain did.
Olbermann just referenced it; I'm sure it will be linkable soon.
This wasn't a McCain win.
This wasn't a tie.
This was Barack Obama pwning an out of touch old man.
